Other projects

Over the last 25 years we have undertaken restoration of many important Georgian marble chimney-pieces including one by the sculptor J.M. Rysbrack,  five from the workshops of Sir Henry Cheere,  seven by the Carters (Thomas and Benjamin), two by Richard Westmacott , two by John Devall and three from the workshops of Carlo Albacini . Further models designed by leading Georgian Architects include important works by James Paine (two), Isaac Ware (six), Robert Adam (four) and one by James Wyatt. Two further projects are detailed below.

 

A granite and statuary marble chimney-piece designed by C.R. Cockerell for the Dining Room, Grange Park, Hampshire and executed by John Flaxman RA in circa 1823-4.
Project was to clean and repair sections of broken marble, and to further provide a mould and plaster casts of the frieze.

A carved statuary marble chimney-piece designed by James "Athenian" Stuart for the State Drawing Room at Stowe House, Buckinghamshire and executed by James Lovel in 1758-9.
Project was to clean and repair sections of broken marble, and locate and supply matching marble for backing panels, plinth blocks and soffit return. Also to undertake further research.
