1790 Statuary marble Chimney-piece with contemporary cast and wrought iron Grate.

This simple elegance of Chimney-pieces at the very end of the late 18th Century is exemplified by this example from the bedroom of a London town house. Unlike it's simpler companions, in smaller anti-rooms, it has exquisitely carved Paterae ornaments on the blockings. The cast and wrought iron Stove Grate is contemporary with the Chimney-piece and has been refitted with a set of black slips. The original slab had been replaced with cast cement infill, so we sourced a new veined Carrara marble slab to match as best as possible.
